VERSAILLES, Ind. — South Ripley Community School Corporation is proud to celebrate Superintendent Mr. Rob Moorhead, who has been named the 2027 Indiana Superintendent of the Year by the Indiana Association of Public School Superintendents (IAPSS). He will represent Indiana in the AASA National Superintendent of the Year program.

Selected from eight district honorees, Moorhead was recognized for his leadership, commitment to student success, educational innovation, community engagement, and service to the profession. Now in his 15th year as South Ripley’s superintendent, he has helped expand opportunities for students and build partnerships that support families across the community.

Those partnerships include the Ripley County Alternative to Suspension Program, which brought local school districts and community agencies together and helped lay the groundwork for the Attend and Engage Program. Under Moorhead’s leadership, South Ripley was also named a 2023 Cognia District of Distinction.

"Our school district and community are so proud of Mr. Moorhead for his leadership in moving our school district forward. We have experienced so much growth under his tenure here as South Ripley has become a beacon for student achievement and school accountability." South Ripley High School, Principal Derik Hutton.

“This recognition truly reflects the incredible work taking place every day in South Ripley Community Schools,” Moorhead said in the district’s announcement.

South Ripley congratulates Mr. Moorhead on this honor and looks forward to cheering him on as he represents Indiana at the national level.
