Today is not just Halloween, but it is also the last day of National Principals Month. We are so fortunate to have these four Raider alums leading our buildings at South Ripley. Thank you Derik Hutton, Ryan Lauber, Kris Wood, & Melanie Evans for all you do for our students!

Congratulations to Jane Raab on her retirement from the SRES cafeteria staff! Jane announced her retirement this summer after our retirement luncheon, so we got to present her with her rocking chair in the central office today. Congratulations and best wishes, Jane!


High School JAG Student, Kelly, got the chance to teach our 5th grade about the SR JAG program!




IDEM visited SRES 5th graders in Mrs. Roepke’s classes. Students learned how the Water cycle works and then reenacted the various paths a water droplet can take by making beaded bracelets in a scavenger hunt.




This is an FYI that the Ripley County Sheriff's Department will be conducting training at SRHS on Sunday, October 26. They will be using Raider Drive and the high school parking lot. Please do not be alarmed if you see multiple police cars at the school on Sunday. Thank you.
Our 4th graders had an OUT-OF-THIS-WORLD experience today! 🌟🚀 They journeyed through the universe in the Star Dome, and the looks of wonder and excitement were priceless. From distant galaxies to spotting constellations, it was a 'whoa!' moment for everyone. What a fantastic way to bring science to life!
Our sixth-grade students have been learning about animal overpopulation, stray dogs, and animal rights. To connect our lessons to real life, we supported a local business, The Fast and The Furriest, that gives so much back to the community by cleaning, housing, and caring for animals in our community.

1st, 2nd & 3rd grade winning classes for the Specials Behavior Incentive got to celebrate with a glow party!


Third graders are having a blast learning about supply, demand, and bartering this morning in their annual Barter or Bust day. Students made ten original items and have the opportunity to barter for other items. Lots of smiles and lots of creativity! What a fun morning at SRES.

Mrs Roepke’s 5th Grade Social Studies class wrapped up our Native American unit with students creating diorama’s and presenting on different tribes through the U.S. region.

During today's Late Arrival PD time, our teachers participated in an AI workshop with Five Star, and received required test security training from our Corp Test Coordinator, Mrs. Evans. We always maximize the use of our built-in PD time.


Officer Rodriguez, the School Resource Officer for South Ripley School Corporation, joined the 6th graders today for a lesson on how the Earth moves through space. The students had a great time sharing what they learned with him!
