Tonight the SR School Board recognized SRO Eddie Rodriguez for being named the District 10 Regional Exceptional Service Award recipient by the Indiana School Resource Officers Association! Congrats, Officer Rodriguez!



SR was able to celebrate our Champions Together programs and our 2024 National Banner at the Ritz Charles in Indianapolis this afternoon. In addition, our Superintendent, Mr. Moorhead, was awarded the Visionary Leadership Award! What a great day to be a Raider!



The SR School Board & Admin Team held a very productive retreat at the Ivy Tech Lawrenceburg Riverfront campus today. We discussed progress on our strategic plan priorities, our Cognia Review report & learned about school finance with Damian Maggos from Raymond James. Great day!




We wrapped up the school year yesterday recognizing our South Ripley retirees and those leaving the profession. We also reflected on some of the many great things that happened at SR this year. Thank you and best wishes to our retirees! It's always a great day to be a Raider!








Big day at SRJHS as we honored our students during our awards program. Congratulations to our 8th grade graduates and all students were recognized for their academic excellence! Go Big Green!







Mrs. Hafft's Science class engaging in a dissection of mice to learn about cells, tissues, organs, and body systems! Students loved comparing and contrasting the digestive systems of mice with humans.




SRJHS students continued their tour of STEM facilities at Batesville Tool and Die today! Students were able to tour the facility and see the manufacturing sections of the plant—sorting, stamping, and warehouse.





8th graders were able to learn about the Honda/Indiana Auto Plant today and the many careers available there. Honda employees taught the students about manufacturing safety and the assembly line, and students experienced a racing simulation, built circuits, and saw a 3D printer.








The 7th grade visited Ohio Rod to see STEM jobs in action. Thank you Ohio Rod for letting us visit your facility!




Athletic Changes 5/7/24 (Tuesday)
For today, 5/7, the following events are canceled:
- JH baseball at Rising Sun
- JH softball at home against Rising Sun
- The ORVC HS track meet at Switz. Co. is postponed until Thursday 5/9.
Varsity Baseball/Softball Update:
Varsity baseball and softball teams were rained out at JCD on Monday, May 6th. They have been rescheduled to Tuesday May 14, still at JCD, with a 5:00 start time for both.

The SR band, jazz band, show choir, and choir put on a fantastic show today for our the spring concert! Thank you to all of the performers and the staff for putting on a top notch show!





SRJHS Academic Teams are representing our school at East Central today in the Indiana Academic Super Bowl. Go Big Green!



On School Bus Driver Appreciation Day we thank our awesome South Ripley Bus Drivers and transportation dept staff! Looking forward to another breakfast to honor them next week! Thank you, bus drivers!


Today is a big day at SRJHS as our students start their state testing with the ILEARN. We had them fired up at our pep session yesterday afternoon! Let's show everyone again why we are the #1 Math and ELA school in Ripley County!





At tonight's school board meeting the South Ripley School Board appointed Melanie Evans as the next principal of South Ripley Junior High School. Congratulations, Melanie!



Today was a special day for SRJHS as Mrs. Lanter, Mrs. Dennis, and Mr. Hutton traveled to Indianapolis to present to a group of Indiana administrators on the SR Transition Teams effort towards improving student outcomes. These teacher leaders represented SR to the highest degree!
