8th Graders wrapped up their Genetics Unit today by creating DNA using Twizzlers and Gummy Bears. They learned about the structure of DNA and used their knowledge to build their own DNA! Well done, Mrs. Beck!

SR is very proud of our students who participated in the Special Olympics Winter Games hosted at Perfect North Slopes on Monday and Tuesday. Our school was represented well by these outstanding students! Thank you to Mrs. Ochs, Mr. Jolly, and Mrs. Bahr for their leadership!

Thanks to US Congresswoman Erin Houchin for visiting SR today. We had a great time showing her STEM lessons, Science of Reading, a MILO robot lesson, discussing Champions Together & interacting with our JAG state officer! The Admin Team truly enjoyed hosting Rep. Houchin.

Our SR family rallied around the Laker family to help support Ashton in his recovery at Cincinnati Children's Hospital. We were able to present the family with a check for $2,500 to help offset some expenses for their family. Thank you to all who have donated in our Penny War!
Thanks to Cari Baylor and Baylor Trucking for bringing the Wreaths Across America program to SRJHS today! Our students learned about the significance of the wreaths and then assembled wreaths to be placed at the gravesites of veterans. Such a powerful program! We appreciate the volunteers from the Ladies Auxiliary for helping out today. Tomorrow our HS NHS students will be delivering wreaths to local cemeteries. Glad to see South Ripley so involved with this program.
The SRJHS band and choir put on an outstanding performance at the Winter Concert this afternoon!
Fantastic convocation today with @champstogether & @SOIndiana recognizing SRHS as the ONLY Indiana school to win the National Banner TWICE as a Unified Champions School! Huge thanks to Brenda Strimple & everyone involved with this accomplishment! Another great day to be a Raider!

This is a reminder that tomorrow, Thursday, November 16, is our next scheduled Late Arrival PD Day. Students should arrive at school 2 hours later than normal and buses will be running 2 hours later than normal as well. School will end at the normal time in the afternoon.

What a spooky lesson on Halloween! Mr. Bosell, Mrs. Bosell, Mrs. Bradley, and Mr. Gadberry invited some of our 7th graders for an adventure in Alchemy and Daoism!
